Growing Closer to God
In its simplest form, prayer is defined as βtalking to God.β It is a personal time of opening our hearts to God and bringing everything in our hearts to Him. Prayer can be a powerful force for change in our lives. By talking to God, we can learn more about the plan He has for us.
At St Gabriel’s children are encouraged to pray in different ways according to their age and personal development.Β Children are introduced to a variety of different ways of praying:
- Quiet reflection
- Guided meditation
- Liturgical prayers
- Prayer journaling
- Attending Mass
- Prayers through hymns and music
- Lectio Divina
- Traditional prayers
